The process of applying for financial aid can be simplified by following our Top Three Tips:

  1. Be sure your financial aid applications are error-free.
  2. Read applications carefully and respond to the questions asked as thoroughly as possible.
  3. Pay careful attention to all communications you receive from our office.

Steps to Apply for Financial Aid

You can apply for financial aid sooner than ever before! Available October 1, 2018, students may fill out the 2019- 2020 FAFSA using 2017 tax information.

  1. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) beginning October 1, 2018.  ABAC School Code:  001541
  2. Submit any requested documents to the Financial Aid Office immediately upon request to expedite the financial awarding process.
  3. Use your 2017 tax information for the 2019-2020 FAFSA.
  4. Learn more about Neighbor Waivers if you are a resident of Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Tennessee.
  5. Access your eStallion (payment app) and ABAC email accounts to confirm that the office has received all necessary information.

To help defray educational expenses at ABAC, the following funding sources are available through the Office of Financial Aid:

Policies and Maintaining Aid Eligibility

Federal regulations require that students meet basic academic progress standards to receive federal financial aid. Each school sets its own policies within the federal guidelines.

Deadlines for SAP Appeal Submission

  • Summer 2019 Attendance – May 15, 2019 (1st deadline)
  • Review Date – May 24, 2019
  • Summer 2019 Attendance – June 10, 2019 (2nd deadline)
  • Review Date – June 24, 2019


  • Fall 2019 Attendance – July 15, 2019 (1st Deadline)
  • Review Date – July 29, 2019
  • Fall 2019 Attendance – August 12, 2019 (2nd Deadline)
  • Review Date – August 26, 2019

NOTE:  Please be advised that appeals are not guaranteed.  Schedules are not held while waiting on appeal decisions.   There is the option to set up a payment plan with Nelnet.

OFA Code of Conduct

In compliance with the requirements of the Higher Education Opportunity Act (H.R. 4137), the following is the Code of Conduct regarding student loans for the Office of Financial Aid at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

School Servicing Center and Verification

ABAC is now partnering with the School Servicing Center to streamline the Verification Process for our students. If selected for Verification, you will receive an email from the School Servicing Center with instructions on what you need to do to complete the process. For the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College financial aid office to determine your eligibility for federal student aid for award year 2017-2018, you must complete the verification process.  

Explanation of Documents

The ABAC Office of Financial Aid may request documents from students to complete verification. ABAC has partnered with the School Servicing Center to handle most standard verifications. However, our office will still resolve V4 verifications (statement of identity), C flags on the ISIR, and special circumstances.
