Orientation

Orientation is your first step to a bright future at ABAC. The purpose of New Student Orientation is to ensure that new undergraduate students have a successful transition and integration into college life at ABAC. Orientation promotes discussion among parents, new students, continuing students, and faculty and staff on the expectations and perceptions of the campus community.

Transfer students can participate in Fast Track Registration but are also required to participate in virtual orientation. Transient and readmit students are encouraged to participate in virtual orientation as well.

Why is Orientation important?

Both virtual and physical orientations will help you:

  • Gain a better understanding of the personal and financial responsibilities of attending college
  • Learn about campus services, activities, academic resources, and the ABAC experience
  • Learn about your academic area of study
  • Learn about completing university business, such as getting your Gold Card, talking to Housing, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, etc.

A student is registered for classes based on their acceptance and submission of all required admission documents. Required documents are outlined in the first orientation letter. Once the required documents are received, the student will receive a second orientation letter outlining their next steps. New students with under 30 credit hours will receive their schedules in their ABAC email close to the start of the semester. New students with more than 30 credit hours will complete the fast-track registration process. All new students will complete the virtual orientation at watch.abac.edu/orientation.

Virtual orientation is one of the steps you will take to help get you acclimated to ABAC. It is required for all new students to participate. To dive right in, click below.

A student is assigned to an orientation session based on their acceptance and submission of required admission documents. Required documents are outlined in the first Orientation letter. Once the required documents are received, the student will be assigned to the earliest available orientation session. If the session to which you are assigned does not work for you and your family, you can switch to a later date based on availability.
