Orientation

ABOUT Orientation

Orientation is your first step to a bright future at ABAC. The purpose of New Student Orientation is to ensure that new undergraduate students have a successful transition and integration into college life. Orientation promotes discussion among parents, new students, continuing students, and faculty and staff on the expectations and perceptions of the campus community.

Transfer students can participate in Fast Track Registration but are also required to attend Orientation. Transient and readmit students are not required to attend Orientation.

Why is Orientation important?

During Orientation you will:

  • Meet other new and current students, faculty, and staff
  • Gain a better understanding of the personal and financial responsibilities of attending college
  • Learn about campus services, activities, academic resources, and the ABAC experience
  • Attend a focus session to learn about your academic area of study
  • Meet with an academic advisor
  • Complete university business, such as getting your Gold Card, talking to Housing, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, etc.
  • Reduce anxiety about the transition to collegiate life
