TIFTON—Colorful costumes and dazzling choreography were the trademarks of the Fabulous Golddusters’ dance team when it performed for over 30 years on behalf of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
Former students who participated as members of that precision dance troupe will join together for a reunion at the ABAC Homecoming activities on April 5. The reunion is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Alumni House Patio. Longtime Golddusters’ Director Andrea Willis is scheduled to be in attendance.
“All our alumni who were a part of the Golddusters are in for a lot of fun that weekend,” ABAC Alumni Director Lynda Fisher said. “We would love to have a great crowd at that reunion.”
Fisher also issued a special invitation for the ABAC Class of 1969 to attend the Homecoming activities, including a special Golden Alumni Reunion at 1:30 p.m. on April 6 at the Lakeside Atrium.
“Those alumni from the Class of ‘69 who wound up their time at ABAC 50 years ago will be honored as Golden Alumni,” Fisher said. “We have set aside a special reunion so they can gather and talk about the ‘good old days’ at ABAC.
“In fact, we’d like for any alumni who were here in the late 60s to be a part of that reunion. That was a very close-knit group so everybody knew each other.”
All former members of the Golddusters and the Class of 1969 should update their contact information prior to the reunions at www.abac.edu/alumni or call (229) 391-4900. For more information, interested persons can contact the ABAC Alumni Office at alumni@abac.edu.
