Hello, my name is Richard Matthews, and I'm an Assistant Professor of Biology here at ABAC. I currently teach courses at the Bainbridge and Tifton campuses of ABAC. I'm originally from a small town outside of Augusta, Georgia. I discovered my love for animals at a very young age! I was always fascinated with them my entire life!

I am currently involved in a research project that is examining the prevalence of that pathogens that cause Lyme Disease and Chagas Disease here in Southwest Georgia. I have a student research assistant at the Tifton campus, and am always looking for new recruits!
