Arts Connection provides opportunities for all ages:
Potters and poets, dancers and mimes, stage shows and street festivals, painters and sculptors, quilters and photographers....the Abraham Baldwin
Arts Connection brings them all to South Georgia! Since 1976, this regional cultural development agency has brought the arts within reach of little children and seniors and all ages in between.
Making the arts affordable, available and accessible to all people from all walks of life---that’s a prominent ABAC mission achieved through the
Arts Connection, a campus-based multi-county collaborative.
Ben Hill, Tift, Turner and Irwin counties all partner with the
Arts Connection year-round to present visual art exhibits, professional performances, school-based arts presentations and experiences, artists-in-residence and more; their collaboration is known as the South Georgia Arts Alliance. Colquitt County was a partner, too the first 20 years; additional shared projects occur regularly with Crisp, Dooly and Berrien counties as well.
Helping communities use the arts for economic development, team-building, downtown revitalization---and just great fun is the idea. The ABAC
Arts Connection collaborates daily with city and county governments, school boards, civic groups, chambers of commerce, arts councils, business and industry, and a multitude of individuals. The result throughout South Georgia is broad----art in public places, artists-in-residence, community art festivals, new and revitalized facilities and a multitude of performances and exhibitions.
