The Turfgrass Equipment Technician Certificate prepares students for careers maintaining specialized turfgrass equipment used on golf courses, athletic fields, and sod farms. This 27-credit-hour certificate provides hands-on training designed to develop the technical knowledge and practical skills needed in the turfgrass industry.
Students will study key areas including turfgrass science, reel grinding, power equipment, electrical systems, and metal fabrication. The curriculum emphasizes experiential learning through real-world projects and applications that mirror industry practices and technologies.
Throughout the program, students will gain experience maintaining and troubleshooting equipment commonly used in turfgrass operations, with a focus on modern technologies and equipment systems.
