Support from day one.
Occasionally, college students encounter academic and personal obstacles that can feel overwhelming and derail their college plans. Academic Support can help as it is the go-to department for students. The office hosts award-winning academic development programs and coaching aimed at reducing barriers that can impact student success.
Academic Support Counselors
Academic Support Counselors (ASCs) provide services focused on building academic strategies for success for all ABAC students. Meeting with an ASC empowers students by helping them:
- objectively identify barriers that impede academic success
- improve time management and organizational skills
- create attainable educational goals
- develop and maintain positive daily routines
- become an active learner
- identify and utilize college support services and resources
- take effective lecture notes
- establish rapport and build relationships with professors
Students can also meet with an ASC for major exploration, secondary academic advising, and college policies (transient, add/drop, withdrawing, major changes, etc.). See below to get started and learn about a few of the programs and interventions within Academic Support.
Testing Center
The Testing Centers provide a wide range of testing services to the ABAC community. Services include but are not limited to, online testing, program-specific entrance and exit exams, proctoring services (independent learning), and placement testing.
