Cyndy was born and raised in upstate New York. In her life, she has lived in Boston, Chicago, Colorado, California, Virginia, and Kansas City. However, the longest place she has ever called home is Tifton, GA.
Cyndy loves small town life where the pace is more conducive to peace and serenity. After twelve years, ABAC and Tifton are now home.

Cyndy is an English professor by trade. However, she currently teaches only honors seminars. In the past she has taught English 1101, English 1102, English 2131, English 2132, and Rural Fictions.
Cyndy has presented at many English conferences and published a chapter in the book titled, Demons of the Body and Mind.
Cyndy's literary focus is 19th century American Literature, Realism and Naturalism, and Gothic Literature with Focus on the Monstrous Body and Deformity.

Cyndy is the director of the ABAC Honors Program so offering opportunities for engagement is a high priority to her. Honors students present research at state, regional, and national honors conferences.
Honor sections of History classes also take trips to various sites in the south. And film nights are a monthly occurrence for the honors students as well.
