Internships:  A Valuable Educational Experience!

Overview of School of Agriculture and Natural Resources’
Internship Training

Internship photoThe internship program is designed to assist the student’s understanding of all factors that go into managing an agriculture or agricultural-related operation.  Students are required to be employed full-time (minimum of 40 hours per week) with a reputable firm or company.

The student must select an internship site that allows the following:

  • Practical experiences that relate directly to the specific career path.
  • Opportunities to demonstrate the student’s abilities as well as changing and increasing responsibilities.

Students are encouraged to independently locate an acceptable site for internship training.  Assistance from faculty and/or advisors can be provided.  Many resources such as the annual Career Connections, faculty, alumni, industry-related websites are available to student to assistant in securing an internship position.  Our interns have been located from Wyoming to South Texas to New England down to South Florida.
