Academic Achievement Center (AAC)

ABOUT Academic Achievement Center (AAC)

The Academic Achievement Center (AAC) is ABAC’s tutoring center. The AAC is certified through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA), ensuring all tutors are trained and qualified to help students. We employ peer tutors that meet specific qualifications; tutors can help with most courses taught at ABAC. In Tifton, the AAC is a drop-in tutoring center, which means most subjects are available for drop-in tutoring, no appointment is needed. In Bainbridge and Blakely tutoring is done by appointment.

The AAC is also a great space for studying, group work and computer use.

Peer Tutoring

AAC certified peer tutors offer drop-in services for most courses taught at ABAC.  Whether working in a small group or one-on-one, these tutors offer the unique perspective of not only doing well in the class, but also experience with the faculty members.

Embedded Tutoring

AAC peer tutors are placed in select courses once or twice a week to help students work math problems, review paper drafts, and identify plants. Our embedded tutoring program is one way we bring the AAC tutors to the students’ classes.

Review Sessions

Prior to exams, AAC tutors lead review sessions to help students prepare for the exam. AAC review sessions are usually held in the evening so as to work with many schedules. Lead tutors work closely with the faculty for these classes in order to best support the students in their studying.
