Microsoft Updates

Note: If you encounter a dialog box for “Security Warning,” asking “Do you want to install and run…, Check the box for “Always trust content from Microsoft Corporation.” Yes [button]

Windows 2000 and/or XP

Note: Installation CDs are NOT required to run updates.

1) Open Internet Explorer [icon]

2) Tools [menu]

3) Windows Update [pull-down]

4) If you do not see a Windows Update option, visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

5) Scan for Updates [link]

6) Review and Install Updates [link]

7) Any/All Critical Updates will be listed

8) Install Now [button]

9) OK [button] any message boxes

10) Accept [button] any license agreement boxes

11) Next/Continue [button] at any progress boxes

12) Reboot the PC if/when prompted.

13) Repeat these steps until “There are no critical updates available at this time.”
