Outlook Mail Settings

 

Note: Mail.abac.edu (effective prior to April 6, 2004)

          Mail2.abac.edu (effective as of April 6, 2004)

  1. Open Outlook (icon on desktop) or Start (button), Programs (pop-up menu), Microsoft Outlook

  2. Tools [menu]

  3. Options [pull-down]

  4. Mail Setup [tab]

  5. E-mail Accounts [button]

  6. View or Change existing mail accounts [radio button]

  7. Next [button]

  8. Select "mail.abac.edu -- POP/SMTP" entry [list box]

  9. Change [button]

  10. Check/Change your Incoming Mail Server (POP3) and Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) for/to mail2.abac.edu -- (see image below) (*See Note Above)

  11. Check/Change the other items specific to you

  12. Next [button] if you changed any entries or Cancel [button] if you made no changes

  13. Finish [button]

  14. OK [button]

Set Outlook to automatically send/receive messages

  1. Open Outlook (icon on desktop) or Start (button), Programs (pop-up menu), Microsoft Outlook

  2. Tools [menu]

  3. Options [pull-down]

  4. Mail Setup [tab]

  5. Select "Send immediately when connected" [radio button]

  6. Send/Receive [button]
  7. Select "Include this group in send/receive (F9)" [radio button]
  8. Select "Schedule an automatic send/receive every XXX minutes [text entry box]" [radio button]
  9. Select "Perform an automatic send/receive when exiting." [radio button]
  10. Close [button]
  11. OK [button]
