Student Support Services provides students with the supportive services they will need to remain in college until they earn their degree. Participants, who include disabled college students, receive tutoring, counseling, transfer assistance, and instruction. A major component of our services is the tutorial assistance that students will receive. The tutorial sessions are scheduled and individualized. In regard to students with learning disabilities, we have specialized tutuorial sessions for Math. Every quarter there are 3-5 workshops offered on a variety of subjects, such as: test anxiety, stress, how to obtain scholarships, and many other topics. The program publishes a quarterly newsletter, the Advocate, which list the workshops and activities.
ABAC is among the growing number of over 700 colleges and universities nationwide that have Student Support Services programs on their campus. If you are a first generation college student, low income, or have a disability, the Student Support Services program located in Conger Hall, Room 115, is the place that will assist, advise and provide that needed academic support.
