The Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Office of Recreational Sports strives to provide a variety of opportunities that contribute to and promote the six dimensions of wellness: physical, emotional, social, spiritual, intellectual, and environmental.
The Office of Recreational Sports strives to promote personal growth and healthy lifestyles to the ABAC community by providing participatory recreational experiences in a fair, safe, recreational sports program at a wide range of skill levels.Recreational programs and event currently offered include approximately ten (10) intramural sports each semester, physical fitness and conditioning activities, support for casual recreational use of fields and facilities, and a growing number of sport clubs.
The Office of Recreational Sports offers an open door policy between the ABAC community and staff. If students would like to have a recreational program scheduled that is not currently on the roster, they should visit the Office of Recreational Sports to request their sport be added.
The Office of Recreational Sports inspires the virtues of discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, fairness, and honesty among participants of its programs. Leadership qualities in students are developed and promoted. Student employment opportunities include officiating, supervising, scorekeeping, equipment managing, and office administration. The results of the efforts of the program significantly and positively impact mind, body, and spirit.
