Fillies win 5 of last 7 games, Hill perfect 6-0

Fillies started February out right with a four-game winning streak at the Darton tournament. The tournament opened with a high scoring shootout with Southern Union State Community College. Chelsea Littlejohn helped the team with four RBIs and a home run. The Fillies came out on top with 11-7.
The Fillies built more momentum by shutting out and only allowing three hits against Faulkner State Community College in 2-0 victory. Rachel Hill pitched an outstanding game, throwing seven shut-out innings, as the Fillies beat Faulkner State Community College 2-0 on Saturday, Feb. 1 ,in the first of two games.
The day was reasonably slow in terms of offense for the Fillies but they were able to get it done thanks to stellar defensive effort. Offensive stand-outs were Alexis Nicks and Annie Ranus, who both hit doubles, and Lauren Thrasher, who had a solo shot.
The second game of the day was against Shelton State Community College, which the Fillies took 3-2.
Once again the Fillies had an outstanding pitching effort by Hill, who struck out 12 batters in seven innings.
Mariah Talmage contributed offensively with an RBI and a triple, while Thrasher and Hill contributed doubles. Kat Conner had one RBI.
The Fillies traveled to Middle Georgia Feb. 6 for a double header where they won the first game 2-1, but remained scoreless in their second game; Middle Georgia beat the Fillies 8-0.
The Fillies took the field with College of Central Florida on Saturday, Feb. 9, where they split a double header. In the first game, the Fillies racked up four runs and kept Central Florida to just three runs. Hill won pushed her pitching record to a perfect 6-0. In the second game, a few errors turned into two runs for Central Georgia and the Fillies were only able to answer with one score.
The Fillies are off to a good start with a 7-4 record. The team will travel to Tallahassee on the 12th and to Darton on the 14th. The next home game will be Feb. 19 against East Georgia College.
