Sydney Vaughn

#22        Sophomore         3B    Bats: R/Throws: R      Macon, GA

Coach Martinez on Sydney: “Sydney is a rare athlete to see. Sydney is the entire package with bringing strong and consistent fielding skills at 3rd base while also being one of the strongest bats in our offensive line up. Sydney will be a huge asset to this team. Her relentlessness to working hard, staying focuses, and challenge herself day in and day out has rubbed off on other players. There is nothing this player can’t do. I am honored to have her as a player and am so excited to see where her softball career takes her.”

High School: Sydney attended Howard High School in Macon, Ga where she played varsity softball all four years, as well as varsity basketball for two years. Her freshman year she was named MVP of the softball team and Rookie of the Year. Both sophomore and junior year she earned the Offensive Award and was listed as First Team All-Region. Her senior year, she received MVP one last time along with being named Scholar Athlete. She was also chosen as the female Scholar Athlete of the Year to represent Howard in 2015.

Personal: Sydney Vaughn was born December 8, 1996. Her biggest supporters are her parents, Brandi and Lewis Vaughn; two sisters, Haleigh and Lauren; and brother, Larsen. She is majoring in Allied Health. Aside from playing softball, she enjoys running and being active. One fun fact about Sydney is for her 18th birthday her uncle, Tim Larsen, took her skydiving.

Why ABAC? “From the jump, I knew how great of program Coach Campbell ran and knew she would hand it over to someone just as great as herself. Coach Martinez along with Coach Keri and Coach Lauren push me to be the best that I can be every day. Now that I am here, there is nowhere else I would rather be. Go Fillies!”
