Chevy Young #16
Freshman C Bats R/Throws R Brunswick, GA
Campbell on Chevy: “Chevy is the total package; great student-athlete. I am proud to have her in our program and expect her to handle the plate during our 2014 season. She works hard in and out of the classroom and has all the skills to become a good college catcher.”
High School: Chevy attended Glynn Academy High School where she played four years of Varsity Softball. Chevy received defensive player her freshman and junior year, Principal’s Award her sophomore and senior year and Coaches Award her sophomore and senior year. During her senior year the Glynn Academy softball team made it to the state playoffs for the first time in almost 20 years. Chevy also received first team All Region her senior year.
Personal: Chevy was born September 22, 1994 in Brunswick, GA. Her parents are Renee and Emory Young Jr. and is an only child but has a big family. Outside of softball Chevy likes to hang out with friends, go to the movies, cook, and be with her family.
Why ABAC? I chose ABAC because Coach Campbell was so inviting when I came for my try-out; from the moment I met her I knew I wanted to play for her. She really convinced me that ABAC was the place to be and after touring the campus and talking to some of the softball girls I knew this was the place for me.
