Campbell on Lakyn: “Lakyn is the type of student athlete that I love having at ABAC. She is an excellent student and one heck of an athlete. She is fundamentally sound and will be fun to watch in the Fillie infield in 2014. Lakyn is a hard worker who loves to compete and always gives it everything she has. I am honored that she picked ABAC as her college of choice.”
High School: Lakyn went to Tiftarea Academy where she played five years of varsity softball. She made All Region all five years, All State her sophomore, junior, and senior year, and AAA Player of the Year her junior and senior year. During her Varsity softball career, Tiftarea won four region championships. Lakyn also played soccer three years.
Personal: Lakyn was born on January 19, 1995 in Tifton, Ga. to Richard and Carla Souter. She has an older sister, Krystin, who is attending Valdosta State University. Outside of softball Lakyn enjoys running, fishing, spending time with friends and family, and taking trips to the beach.
Why ABAC? I chose ABAC because Coach Campbell was very laid back, easy to talk to and made me feel welcomed. Coach would always make sure to call and ask how I was doing and see how summer or school was going. I could really tell that she cared and now that I play for her, it is even more obvious how much she actually does care. The campus and atmosphere are great especially for a small town girl like me.
