Maiah at ABAC: Maiah hit .281 as a freshman with 5 doubles, 2 triples and 18 stolen bases. She had an OBP of .307 and drove in 7 runs while scoring 25.
Campbell on Maiah: “Maiah had a really good freshman year for us and so far this fall I have seen her mature and work harder than ever. She will be a great recruit for the four year level as she possesses speed and a competitiveness that coaches love. If I turn her loose she is capable of stealing 30+ bases this year.”
High School: Maiah ran track and played softball at Lowndes High School. She was on 4-AAAAA Region Championship teams in track. Maiah played softball three years for Lowndes High School where her team played in the State tournament. She was part of the 3-AAAAA Region Championship team and was awarded the best defensive player. She was also named to the 1st team All-Region team her senior year and played in the 2012 North-South All-Star game.
Personal: Maiah was born February 12, 1994, to Angela Talmage and Jason Brown. Maiah was born and raised in Long Island NY. She has 4 sisters and 4 brothers, and she loves spending time with all of her family and friends, and playing softball. She is majoring in Nursing.
Why ABAC? “I chose ABAC because it is close to home and it was very exciting to have the chance to keep playing softball. Coach Campbell and the team were very nice and it just seemed like they were a family.”
