TurnItIn.Com Student Instructions

For each multi-draft essay in this class, you are required to submit the FINAL DRAFT to TurnItIn.Com, to ensure academic honesty. You must submit it by midnight on the date the essay is due. Pursuant to ABAC Humanities Division’s Policy on Academic Honesty, I will not accept/grade an essay that has not been submitted to TurnItIn. Following are the instructions.

The First Time

First, you must create your account.

1. Go to www.turnitin.com
2. Click on Create Account
3. Go down to “Create Account” and click Student
4. Use your ABAC email address
5. Put in your class’s Class ID   _____________________
6. Put in your class’s enrollment password   _____________
7. Fill in user info in the boxes
8. Choose your own personal password, and remember it for later, too
9. Choose and provide an answer for your secret question
10. Click that you’re at least 13
11. Click Agree, Create Profile

To Submit Your Final Draft

1. Log in, if you haven’t already
2. Click on the correct class
3. Under the correct essay assignment, click Submit
4. Complete the required information. Be sure to put your essay’s specific title.
5. Click browse to locate your essay either on your jump drive or hard drive (wherever you saved it). Find your essay and double-click.
6. Click Upload
7. Double check to make sure that’s the correct essay and that it’s the final draft.
8. If all is correct, click Submit. Later you can check your Portfolio within TurnItIn to make sure the essay appears as submitted.
