Fall (#2) 2009 Staff Forum

October 7, 2009

Health Science Building Room 238

 

Welcome and InvocationNancy Anthony, called the meeting to order at 3:35 PM in the Health Science Building room 238. Jenelle Handcox, Director of Financial Aid, gave the invocation.

 

Guest Speaker – ABAC President, Dr. David Bridges

·         Gave an overview on the six schools created.

·         Discussed the budget situation, State Revenue, and Furloughs.

·         ADP has had some problems system wide and every one to check their paycheck carefully.

·         Open enrollment starts October 26, 2009

·         Discussed the construction under going to the front of the campus.

·         Parking is very difficult at this time. Visitors will be able to park at the Student Center, Dinning Hall, and the South parking lot. New signs will be in place to lead visitors to the back of campus.

·         Most of the problems at ABAC are caused by non ABAC students. Suggested that students, faculty, and staff wear id’s from 6:00 P.M to 7:00 A.M. Looking at getting student id’s every semester.

 

New Personnel and Changes:

Old Business:

            Approval Minutes:

Minute’s form the September 9, 2009 Staff Forum meeting were distributed and                                                                    reviewed. The minutes were approved as written. (Bam Pirkle made the motion and Billy Purcell second).

           

Account balances: The current balance in the Staff Forum Expendable account is $2,753.94

 

New Business:

·         Alma Young agreed to be the webmaster for the Staff Forum.

·         Nancy and Tracy will be going to the State Staff Meeting October 15, 2009 @ Ga. College & State University.

·         Open Enrollment

·         Deadline for Tom Turkey

·         Committees members are not required to do all of the work, just facilitate the work.

           

 

 

 

Announcements:

·         Sign up sheet for CPR. The cost is $27.00; certification has to be done every year.

·         Open enrollment will be around October 19th – November 26th.
