Fall 2006 Staff Forum
Wednesday, September 13, 2006
3:00 P.M.
Ms. Olga Contreras-Martinez, Chair, called the meeting to order at 3:00. Brenda Graham gave the invocation.
New personnel were recognized and welcomed.
Each division representative gave an update of what was going on in their area.
Approval of Minutes
Minutes from the February 1, 2006, June 28, 2006 and July 19, 2006 Staff Forum meetings were distributed and reviewed.
Nancy Anthony made motion to accept the February 1, 2006 minutes as written. Trina Jones seconded the motion. With no further discussion the motion was carried. The minutes will be filed as written.

Brenda Doss made motion to accept the July 19, 2006 minutes as written. Nancy Anthony seconded the motion. The motion was carried. The minutes will be filed as written.
Staff Development
Committee Update
Trina Jones discussed the survey results that were returned from the fall workshop. She stated that input from the staff will be used to help develop workshops. Ms. Jones reviewed the guidelines for Professional Development funding. Eligibility and Guidelines were distributed.
Guest Speaker
Ms. Trina Jones introduced Coach Donna Sledge as the guest speaker. Coach Sledge spoke about managing stress in our life. She stated that it is up to each person to take control of their life. She challenged the audience to take a moment each day to meditate on the most important things in their lives. Coach Sledge demonstrated proper poster and breathing techniques to help reduce stress.
Centennial Campaign
Update
Missy Hutto gave an update on the Centennial Campaign. She stated that ABAC is at 50% of campus-wide participation. Donation forms were distributed to staff in attendance. Ms. Hutto encouraged everyone to participate. 100% Participation is Priceless!
Review of proposed
changes to Staff Forum-By-Laws
The revised Staff Forum By-Laws were presented to the staff for review. The by-laws will be voted on at the next Staff Forum meeting that is scheduled for Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 3:00 pm.
Planning of Fall
Semester Fundraiser – Tom Turkey IV
Plans are underway for the forth annual Tom Turkey Fundraiser.
Announcements
As part of the Centennial Campaign the HEP/CAMP Division will be selling tickets for lunch on September 28, 2006. The plates will include Hispanic food. The tickets are $5.00.
The Fall Concert & Picnic will be held at the Pavilion at ABAC Place Apartment on October 11, 2006 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The Hispanic Heritage Day is scheduled for October 11, 2006 from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. Mr. Joe Lewis, Tifton Vice Mayor will be the quest speaker.
The Carlton Center Team and the Alumni Office will be holding a dessert raffle to raise money for the Centennial Fundraiser.
The
Ms. Contreras asked for a volunteer to organize the refreshments for the Staff Forum meetings. Ms. Tracy Bryan volunteered to be the Refreshment Coordinator.

With no further business or discussion the meeting was adjourned at 4:22 pm. Refreshments were served.
