Staff Forum
Guest Speaker:
Aubrey Wooten, District Manager, SODHEXO. SODHEXO is the new food services provider as of July 1. Mr. Wooten gave an overview of the changes in the dining hall we as staff can expect from SODHEXO. He opened by stating he appreciated the opportunity to serve ABAC.
1. Plan to hire the current staff at the same rate of pay.
2. Renovate the dining hall in three phases (1) Phase one is in progress, furniture has been ordered. (2) The Magnolia Room will be renovated and will soon house Blimpi’s Restaurant and also a coffee shop with a student lounge environment.
3. Breakfast and lunch will be all you can eat meals for one door price. Dinner will be Al la Carte. Students can enjoy brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
4. Students
have the option to purchase a $300.00 meal plan with a declining balance that
can be used in the dining hall as well as the store in
5. Three other meals plan option will be available for students. 25/75/125 meal block plans with a declining balance. The students will be able to carry over meals from fall to spring semester.
6. Faculty and staff will also have the option to purchase meal plans/declining balances (details to come later).
Mr. Wooten introduced Kurt Hoffman, General Manager of the Dining Hall. Mr. Hoffman has 29 years of experience, mostly with larger institutions. He indicated that he wanted to make the move to a smaller school to have more interaction with the students. Mr. Hoffman stated that plans are being made to bring back the faculty/staff luncheons. If anyone has questions they may contact Mr. Hoffman.
After a short question/answer session, Mrs. Doss thanked Mr. Wooten for coming.

Old business:
· Endowment –The proposal: Funds in the amount of $10,000 shall be set aside in an endowed account, with the goal of adding to it yearly with staff deductions, to reach a final goal of $50,000 in endowed funds. Once endowed at $50,000, these funds will generate interest to assist in the awarding of Roy Jackson Staff Excellence Awards and/or Staff Forum Scholarships. Additional funds would need to be raised yearly to fully fund the awards at their current levels. Motion was made, seconded and the motion carried.
· Payroll Deduction Form – We need to get the ball rolling toward that $50,000 goal! If anyone is interested, please see Mrs. Doss or Bobbie Baldree for a form.
