Spring Staff Forum

January 23, 2002

3:00 PM

The meeting was called to order by Amy Willis, Chair. The invocation was given by Louise Foote.

Introduction of new personnel was presented by Amy Willis.

Old Business

A. Approved minutes from September 5, 2001: A motion to accept was made, seconded and passed.

B. Amy Willis, Chair, cautioned the Scholarship and Awards Committee to be aware of the revised criteria when making their decisions for the Roy Jackson Award.

New Business

A. Amy Willis, Chair, asked for suggestions for future programs. Several suggestions were addressed: Staff Development Funds, CAMP, GEAR-UP and HELP programs, Human Resources, Choir, Jazz Band, Arts, Shelia Hughes Showcase Awards (Students Art Exhibit).

B. Balance in the Staff Forum Scholarship was reported as $1,750 and the Roy Jackson Award was $10,739.00. Contributions need to be made to these accounts to ensure the continuous of the awards. Contributions can be made thru payroll deduction.

President Vollmer gave the Staff Forum a “Big Thank You” for all the hard work that has been done to help increase enrollment. Both Fall and Spring Semesters were an all-time high record. He also discussed options of working hours, investing in Development, new programs that will be coming in the near future and projects on the agenda that will be started in the next few months.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned and members enjoyed delicious refreshments furnished by: Marsha Anderson, Katrina Williams, Vickie Wilson, Debra McCrary, Patsy Hembree, Bam Pirkle, Van McGriff and Hazel Purvis.
