Freshman Residency Requirement
Living on campus provides many opportunities for positive student development and learning. First-year students, in particular, benefit from the supportive environment of the on-campus community. For this reason, ABAC requires all freshmen who have earned fewer than 24 semester hours of collegiate level credit and who have not cleared Learning Support requirements to live on campus unless they meet one of the following criteria:
¯ Living with and commuting daily from the legal
¯ Married
¯ 21 years of age prior to September 1, of the academic
Waiver of Residency Requirement Exemption from the Freshman Residency Requirement is not automatic. Freshmen who meet one of the above criteria and who do not wish to live on campus are required to complete and submit the Freshman Residency Exemption Forms.
This form with supporting documentation must be returned to the Office of Student Life and Housing at ABAC before a student can register for classes.
