The Governor’s Intern Program is looking for bright, hardworking and enthusiastic people to intern at the State Capitol during Fall 2009. Interns work in a fast-paced environment and enjoy many opportunities to learn more about politics, state government and the legislative process.
Each intern is assigned to a department within the Governor’s Office or a state agency based on his or her interests. Potential placements include Policy, Communications, Scheduling, Government Affairs, Executive Appointments, Executive Counsel and Constituent Services.
The application process is highly competitive, consisting of an online application and two rounds of interviews. Applicants may be college juniors or seniors, recent graduates, graduate students or law students. All majors are encouraged to apply and interns will receive an hourly stipend based upon their education level. Interns are required to work 20 to 40 hours per week and will begin on August 17th.

Applications are also being accepted for fellows in the Governor’s Intern Program. Fellows must be recent college graduates and have the ability to work 40 hours a week for six months. The next fellowship period is December 18, 2009 – June 18, 2010. The fellowship application process is highly competitive and consists of an application, first-round interview and second-round panel interview.
