CAPP

Curriculum Advising and Program Planning

Some things you need to know

·         Forms mentioned below are available at http://www.abac.edu/registrar/faculty_resources.cfm, or by clicking on the form title.

·         CAPP uses the catalog term assigned to the student.  This is initially set as the student’s first term at ABAC, or subsequently changed to reflect the effective term of any major change.   In order to use a different catalog term in CAPP, the advisor will submit the Graduation Catalog Term Change request on-line.

·         Course adjustments for Transfer Programs are sometimes needed and should be requested on-line as a CAPP Degree Adjustment.  Use this process to move appropriate courses from one core area to another, or to pull in a course that is currently not shown on the degree evaluation.

·         Course substitutions or waivers for Career-Tech Programs should be requested on-line as a CAPP Degree Substitution or Waiver.  These on-line requests are routed for approval by advisor, Division Chair, and Academic Dean.

·         Graduation applications and accompanying degree evaluations should not be processed by the advisor and submitted to Enrollment Services until all requested changes have been received and processed by Enrollment Services.  The advisor will receive notification when the following requests have been received and processed:

o       Catalog term changes

o       Course adjustments (transfer programs)

o       Substitutions and waivers (career-tech programs)

·         Undeclared majors will receive the message “You are currently an undeclared major.  A full degree evaluation cannot be run until you declare a major.”

·         Please question CPC requirements if the requirements show “Not Applicable” and the major is a transfer degree (AA or AS.)  There may be a coding problem.

·         If a student has a few quarter credit courses, please enter them with a red pen on the Degree Evaluation.  Quarter credit courses can be seen on the "Courses Not Used" list accessed in the "Additional Information" section.

·         The “What If” option is available.  This option is good for Undeclared students and for students who are thinking about changing their major.
