identifying different soil types based on the soil’s physical
characteristics and position relative to the surrounding landforms. They
will be able to utilize a Soil Survey Manual for locating different soil
types in their environment and identifying the characteristics and
properties of a soil. They will be able to identify vegetative cover
species as a tool for recognizing different soil moisture regimes, and be
able to apply different water management techniques to make modifications
to that regime, as circumstances require. They will have acquired the
basic skills to work with computer spreadsheets and word processing
applications for recording data, and preparing reports.
