The Greater Philadelphia area is rich in public gardens, arboreta and historic houses with gardens. The focus of this trip will be to visit these gardens and experience the history that surrounds them. The Brandywine and Longwood Gardens contain thousands of acres of beautiful horticultural displays, fountains, gardens and woodlands. The mansions we visit will take you back to where Philadelphia's first families built their country estates on the banks of the Delaware. We will visit historic Gettysburg, the largest battlefield shrine in America, where we will have a guided tour through this National Park shrine with over 1000 monuments. In the Amish country we will enjoy eating dinner with a family and experience their simpler way of life.
