Adirondack Special
New York –
Montreal/Quebec – Niagara Falls
(102GT6171)
September 9-15,
2009

Following a motor
coach ride to Atlanta, this trip flies to the
Big Apple for an afternoon and evening of fun before heading into Canada….you will experience the sights of Times
Square, Rockefeller
Plaza and a matinee
Broadway show. The show is “Mama Mia”, a romantic musical set in the Greek
Isles that will leave you laughing and dancing for more! A group dinner will round out
our evening in Manhattan.
The next day we
will board the Adirondack Special at Penn Station. This Amtrak train is bound
for Montreal, Canada for a luxurious three night
stay and plenty of opportunity to experience the charm of French Canada. Sights include the historic district, the
Basilica of Notre Dame, and a special traditional pancake meal at the Sugar
Shack where maple syrup is made and costumed Canadians serve as hosts and
entertain with a folklore show.
A day trip to
the beautiful walled city of Quebec will make
you think about Paris!
Quebec’s Old
Town itself is a work of art –
cobblestone walkways, well preserved 17th century architecture, café
culture and the only North American fortress walls that still exist north of Mexico.
Next we enjoy a
morning cruise through the natural beauty of the 1,000 Islands which are
located in the waterway separating Canada
from the United States. This cruise takes us on the St. Lawrence
River on our way to Niagara Falls
for a two-night stay. A local tour of
the area will feature the giant Floral Clock, the Locks, stories of daredevils
and thrill seekers, and the whirlpool.
Afterwards, board the Maid of the
Mist for exhilarating views as the boat motors just short of the roaring
falls. A dinner atop the revolving
restaurant at the Skylon Tower offers a spectacular
view and a memorable end to an exciting trip!
