LOWNDES COUNTY OFFICERS GRADUATE FROM ABAC POLICE ACADEMY

TIFTON—Derrik A. McLeon of Lake Park, William L. Neel of Naylor, Timothy B. Davis of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, Christopher W. Alan, Jr., and Gerald D. Watts of the Valdosta Police Department, and Jamal A. Shareef and Colt M. Smith of the Valdosta State University Department of Public Safety were among 19 individuals who recently received certificates at graduation exercises for the 227th session of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC) Regional Police Academy at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

Shareef received the Overall Achievement award and first place in Academics. Watts received second place in Academics and served as president of the 227th session.

The South Georgia Police Academy regularly holds multi-week intensive training sessions designed to acquaint officers with state-of-the-art law enforcement techniques. The Academy operates in cooperation with the Division of Social Science at ABAC.
