TIFTON— A
quirky, romantic comedy titled “Almost,
“Cast members will have on average two scenes to play, two characters to play, and only between 10 and 20 pages of dialogue to learn,” Baldwin Players Director John Galyean said.
All roles are open to ABAC faculty, staff, and students as well as to anyone in the local area. Production dates are Nov. 13-15 on the ABAC campus.
Galyean said the setting for the play by John Cariani is a tiny place in north central Maine that is so small that county surveyors could not really give it a designation as a village, thus “Almost,” Maine. It takes place one magical night in midwinter at 9 p.m.
“Mixing blue-collar realism with imagination and fantasy, the play deals with several couples who find themselves falling in and out of love, as well as finding out hilarious if not profound things about themselves and life in general,” Galyean said. “Think ‘Northern Exposure’ meets ‘Moonstruck.’”
