KERCH
SELECTED AS THIRD RUNNER-UP IN MS. ABAC 2009
TIFTON—Jacklyn
Kerch of Stone Mountain was selected as the third runner-up in the 40th
annual Ms. ABAC event at Abraham
Baldwin Agricultural
College. Twenty-nine ABAC
students participated in the pageant, which was sponsored by the Student
Government Association (SGA).
Kerch
is an animal science major. At ABAC, she is a member of the Forestry and
Wildlife Club, AET Club, the ABAC Rowdies, the Agricultural Business Club, and
the Pre-Veterinary/Animal Science Club. Kerch
was sponsored by the Forestry and Wildlife Club. She is the daughter of Jim and
Gayle Kerch.
Keegan Westberry, an early childhood
education major from Brunswick,
was selected as Ms. ABAC 2009. Other finalists were Melissa McGill, first runner-up, a fashion merchandising major from
Tifton; Kristy Card, second
runner-up, a pre-medicine major from Cordele; and Jessica Padgett, fourth runner-up, an agricultural
communications/mass media major from Sylvester.
Padgett won the Essay Award, and the
Contestant’s Award went to Kristen
Shipps, an agricultural communications major from Nokomis, Fla.
McGill won the Interview Competition
award.
Contestants were
sponsored by campus groups, including clubs, residence halls, athletic teams,
and student media.
