EIGHTEEN GRADUATE FROM
TIFTON—Eighteen individuals
from the South Georgia area recently received certificates at graduation
exercises for the 228th session of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center
(GPSTC)
Academy Director Marty Smith said the Overall Achievement award for the session was awarded to Matthew B. Miller of the Pelham Police Department. Miller also received first place in Firearms for the session. First place in Academic Achievement was awarded to Jason M. Frost of the Valdosta Police Department. Second place in Academics was received by Randy L. Lightsey of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office. Lightsey also received second place in Firearms. The president for the session was Anthony B. Thomas of the Albany Police Department.
Other graduates included Lonnie D. Roberts of Adel, sponsored by the GPSTC; Christopher S. Richardson of the Albany Police Department; Johnathon C. McNeese of the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, Jeramy M. Via of the Douglas Police Department; Joseph H. Rathbun and Pamela R. Young of Fitzgerald, sponsored by the GPSTC; Christopher A. Eubanks of Leesburg, sponsored by the GPSTC; and Scott A. Hockenbury of the Quitman Police Department.
Other graduates included Jeremy R. Kompoltowicz of Valdosta, sponsored by the GPSTC; Mark R. Mendoza, Thomas W. Newton, Tyre B. Schultz and Heather L. Turner of the Valdosta Police Department; and Franklin B. Patterson, II, of the Worth County Sheriff’s Office.
