PACESETTERS NAMED AT ABAC
TIFTON—Eight individuals at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College recently received Pacesetter Awards from the campus newspaper’s editorial board and staff. A Superior Pacesetter Award was also presented to Amanda Roberts, an art major from Twin City.
The institution’s
award-winning student newspaper, The Stallion, extends Pacesetter
recognition annually to those who have worked for ABAC through their actions
and exemplary service. Pacesetters are chosen from the student body, the
administration, the faculty, and the staff who, through their hard work, talent, and devotion, embody the spirit of
the college.
This year’s faculty and staff Pacesetter Award recipients included Brenda Doss, Administrative Associate in the Academic Affairs office; Lorie Felton, Assistant Professor of Environmental Horticulture; Jeffrey Newberry, Assistant Professor of English; and Ashley Williamson, Public Relations Assistant. Jack Larry, Sodexho Custodial Supervisor, received the honorary award posthumously. Larry passed away in December, 2007. His wife, Juanita, accepted the award on his behalf.
Student Pacesetter award recipients included Scott Barron, an Ag Education major from Woodstock; Willie Dean, a Middle Grade Education major from Tifton; and Taylor Hand, an undecided major from Tifton.
