COLQUITT COUNTY FAMILY HONORED AT ABAC HOMECOMING

TIFTON - The William Turner family of Colquitt County received the 2008 Family Legacy Award during the Alumni Awards ceremony at the 2008 Homecoming Centennial Celebration at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.  The family has 19 family members spanning four generations who are ABAC alumni. 

Gladys Klein Tuner and Hubert Owen Turner were the first to attend the college in 1921 and 1922 respectively.  The most recent graduate of the Turner family was Kraig Hubert Vickers, who received his diploma in 2007.

            The Turner family holds active roles in their community as well, contributing in a variety of professions ranging from homemaking to teaching to military service to agriculture and business.
