FOUR AREA RESIDENTS AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS AT ABAC
TIFTON—Jasmine L. Carden and Jamarra K. Nelson of Cordele, Whitney L. Conner of Abbeville, and Benjamin B. Lavender of Pitts were awarded scholarships at the recent Honors Day ceremony at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
The awards, provided through the ABAC Foundation, were based on a number of criteria such as leadership ability, character, academic excellence, and financial need.
Carden, a political science major, received a $1,000 Vera Conger Smith Scholarship and Nelson, a business administration transfer major, received a $500 Charles W. Powell, III Scholarship. Conner, a nursing major, was awarded a $1,000 J.H. Dorminy Nursing Scholarship, and Lavender received a $1,000 B.H. and Lanell Claxton Scholarship.
