FOURTEEN GRADUATE FROM 219th ABAC POLICE ACADEMY

TIFTON—Fourteen individuals from the South Georgia area recently received certificates at graduation exercises for the 219th session of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC) Regional Police Academy at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

Academy Director Marty Smith said the Overall Achievement award for the session was awarded to Christopher G. Brown of the Albany Police Department. Brown also received first place in Academic Achievement, second place in Firearms, and served as President of the 219th session. Second place in Academic Achievement went to Terry R. Allen of the Tifton Police Department. First place in Firearms was received by Jimmy D. Griffin of the Valdosta Police Department.

Other graduates included Jerry J. Franklin, Teniece D. Harris, and Richard D. Norman of the Albany Police Department; Jeffrey D. Lawson and Joshua L. Suggs of the Donalsonville Police Department; Thomas L. Bryan of the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office; Don S. Moody, Jr.,  of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office; Kevin S. Hodge and Christopher E. Hosey of the Pelham Police Department; Jana I. Music of the South Georgia College Department of Public Safety; and Summer B. Bailey of the Valdosta State University Department of Public Safety.

GPSTC Regional Police Academy regularly holds multi-week intensive training sessions designed to acquaint officers with state-of-the-art law enforcement techniques. The Academy operates in cooperation with the Division of Social Science at ABAC.
