ABAC CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY WITH HOLIDAY MUSIC DECEMBER 4


              TIFTON – Ring in the holidays this year with a Holiday Music Celebration on Dec. 4 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of All Faiths at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

This event is open to the public at no charge as a part of ABAC’s 100th birthday celebration.  Refreshments will be served in the lobby of the adjacent music building when the concert ends.

The concert will feature the ABAC Jazz Trio with Erin Palmer on piano, Trent Lumpkin on bass, and Johnathan Thomas on drums. The trio will play favorites like “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” and “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”.

The 20-member ABAC Jazz Choir, directed by Dr. Susan Roe, will also perform holiday selections. The group includes Alli Brown, Rosanna Grasser, Perry Greer, James Mitcham, Ashley Williams, Lindsey Roberts, Brittany Moody, Megan Pro, Willie Dean, Michael Hamilton, Joshua Harrell, Brian Holland, and Meagan Royal, all from Tifton.

 Other performers in the group include Savannah Rogers from Norman Park, Kayla Wise from Ashburn, Jessica Cone from Thomasville, Tori Bozeman from Moultrie, Haley Parrish from Moultrie, and Erlencia Mumphrey from Albany.  

Dr. Herbert Shippey, a Humanities Division faculty member, will present an inspirational reading, and Arts Connection Director Wayne Jones will sing “Sweet Little Jesus Boy.”

 The concert will close with audience participation in beloved Christmas songs such as “Joy to the World”, “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” and “Come All Ye Faithful”.  As a grand finale, Roe will sing “O Holy Night”, accompanied on piano by Erin Palmer.
