MS. ABAC PAGEANT ON NOVEMBER 20
TIFTON- Ms. ABAC 2008 will be crowned
on Nov. 20 at the 39th annual pageant at
The event will feature 29 contestants who will
compete in casual wear and evening gowns. They will also be judged on a written
essay and an interview with the judges. The scholarship pageant begins at 7:30
p.m. in ABAC’s Howard Auditorium. Admission is $4 in
advance and $5 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased Nov. 14, 15, 16,
and 19 in the
Students competing in this year's event include Cayla Adams, a nursing major from Royston, sponsored by Circle K; Casey Allen, an agricultural education major from Dudley, sponsored by the ABAC Student Professional Association of Georgia Educators (SPAGE); Ashley Brown, a nursing major from Omega, sponsored by the Student Government Association; Jessica Bryant, an agricultural communications major from Hoschton, sponsored by FFA; Krystal Bunch, an agricultural transfer major from Tignall, sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa; and Whitney Conner, a nursing transfer major from Rochelle, sponsored by the ABAC Ambassadors.
Other coeds competing for the crown are Cassie Couch, a pre-dentistry major from Tifton, sponsored by the ABAC Women’s Soccer team; Amy Craven, an education major from Baxley, sponsored by the International Club; Hannah Crosby, an early childhood education major from Wrightsville, sponsored by the 4-H club; Crissie Elrick, an agricultural communication major from Pembroke, sponsored by the Agricultural Engineering and Technology club; Jasmine Favors, a nursing major from McDonough, sponsored by MASDA; Hannah Fox, an accounting major from Tifton, sponsored by Campus-wide Bible Study; Amber Graham, an agriculture transfer major from Harlem, sponsored by the Agriculture Division Rowdies; and Sarah Hambrick, an animal science major from Toccoa, sponsored by Cattlemen’s Association.
Other contestants are Sarah Hancock, an early childhood education major from Gray, sponsored by the Campus Activity Board; Melessa Jackson, an allied health major from Gray, sponsored by the ABAC baseball team; Jacklyn Kerch, an animal science major from Stone Mountain, sponsored by the Forestry and Wildlife club; Blake Lewis, a political science major from Baxley, sponsored by ABAC Aquatics; Amber May, a business major from Sharpsburg, sponsored by ABAC softball; Kimberly Morris, a turfgrass and golf course management major from Dallas, sponsored by the Turf Club; Lauren Moyer, a sports medicine major from Fayetteville, sponsored by the ABAC women’s basketball team; and Auttumn Pope, an animal science major from Snellville, sponsored by the Pre-Vet and Animal Science Club.
Others participating are Lindsey Roberts, a business administration major from Tifton, sponsored by the ABAC men’s tennis team; Jennie Sawyer, an early childhood education major from Douglas, sponsored by the Baptist Collegiate Ministries; Takevia Sawyer, a nursing major from Ashburn, sponsored by the Student Support Leadership club; Anna Sutton, an animal science major from Marietta, sponsored by the RacCooners club; Samantha Tankersley, an English major from Tifton, sponsored by the Honors Program; Ashley Williams, a music major from Tifton, sponsored by Christian Student Fellowship and Kayla Wise, a early childhood education major from Ashburn, sponsored by MENC.
ABAC Director of Public Relations Mike Chason will serve as master of ceremonies. Andrea Willis, chair of the Division of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, directs the event. Heather Gilman, Miss ABAC 2007, will crown the winner.
