Ty Wright
TIFTON – Not many
baseball players ever hit two grand slams in a career. Ty Wright of the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College
Stallions has already hit two in one game this season. The sophomore biology major from
“I am doing well in all offensive categories of my
game,” Wright said. “My season is going well - even better than I thought it
would.”
That is an understatement. Wright is the team
leader offensively. His batting average is 407 with 49 runs scored. This is a
vast improvement from last season’s batting average of 314. He also holds the
season record with his 83 hits, 19 doubles, eight homeruns and 48 runs batted
in.
He was just selected as both an All-Conference
Player and named as the All-Conference Player of the Year.
“Ty is a great kid and has been from the start,”
said Stallions’ head coach Steve Janousek. “He works hard in the classroom and
on the field.”

lot,” Wright said. “I played a variety of positions on teams when I was
younger. I don’t have a favorite. I like
playing all of them.”

and you get to know your instructors,” Wright said. “I also knew I would be
able to get playing time on the team.”

two different career paths. “Hopefully I am playing professional baseball,” he
said. “I would love to play for the Atlanta Braves so I can still be close to
family and friends. If not, I hope to be working for a hospital, married, and
living comfortably.”
