ABAC HOSTS AG FORUM AT HOMECOMING ON MARCH 31

TIFTON—A Forum on Agriculture featuring Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College President David Bridges will take place on March 31 as part of the ABAC Homecoming 2007 events.

The forum, titled Agriculture: Our Heritage, Our Future, will be held in the Cordell Conference Room of the Carlton Center at 10 a.m.  Bridges will speak on the future of ABAC and agriculture. All alumni and the general public are invited to attend.   There is no charge.

Bridges holds four degrees in the agricultural sciences. He received his Associate’s degree in Agriculture from ABAC; a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy and Soils from Auburn University; a Master’s in Weed Science from Auburn University; and a Doctorate in Weed Science from Texas A&M University.

Bridges served as the Assistant Dean of the University of Georgia’s Tifton campus of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences before becoming the only ABAC alumnus to serve as president of the college.

This year’s Homecoming celebration is titled “Countdown To The Centennial” because the college will celebrate its 100th birthday in 2008.
