UNIVERSITY SYSTEM APPROVES TENURE FOR ABAC FACULTY

TIFTON--The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia recently approved tenure for three faculty members at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College effective Aug. 1, 2007. Those receiving tenure are Joy Godin, Etta Lee, and Dr. Luke Vassiliou.

            Godin, assistant professor of Business Information Technology, has been a faculty member at ABAC since 2002. She received her B.S. of Education in Business Education from the University of Georgia and her M.M.I.S. in Management Information Systems from Georgia College and State University.

Lee, associate professor of Psychology, has been an ABAC faculty member since 1997. She earned her A.A.S. in Forest and Agriculture Equipment Technology from ABAC; and her B.S. of Education in Middle Childhood Education and M.A. of Education in Counseling/Guidance from Valdosta State University.

Vassiliou, associate professor of English, began teaching in ABAC’s Division of Humanities in 2002. He earned his B.A. in English Literature/ESL Teaching from the University of Athens, Greece. He received his M.A. in Rhetoric and Literature from Illinois State University and his Ph.D. in English from Louisiana State University.

Tenure may be granted to a faculty member who has served at least five years as an assistant professor and has shown the potential for making significant contributions to the college and in the professor's field.
