UNIVERSITY SYSTEM APPROVES PROMOTIONS FOR ABAC FACULTY

TIFTON--The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia recently approved promotions for 12 faculty members at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College effective Aug. 1, 2007.

Wendy Harrison, Dr. William Moore and Kathleen Moreno were promoted to the rank of assistant professor from instructor.  Dr. Paul Foote, Dr. James Galt-Brown, Sandra Giles, Wanda Golden, Mouyyed Hassouna and Dr. Susan Roe were promoted to the rank of associate professor from assistant professor. Dr. Malcolm Rainey, Dr. John Settimi, and Dr. Doug Waid were promoted from associate professor to professor.

            Harrison, who has been a faculty member at ABAC since 2001, teaches in the Division of Humanities. She received an A.B.J. in Print Journalism from the University of Georgia and her M.Ed. in Secondary Education from Georgia Southwestern State University.

Moore, who began teaching in the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources in 2002, earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Forest Resources from the University of Georgia.  He received his Ph. D. in Forest Resources from Clemson University.

 Moreno, who has been a faculty member at ABAC since 2002, teaches in the Division of Business Administration. She holds an A.S. in Business Administration from ABAC; a B.H.S. in Nutrition from the University of Florida; and a B.B.A. and Masters of Accountancy from Valdosta State University.

Foote has been a member of the Division of Social Science since 2000. He received his B.A. in Political Science – International Relations from West Chester University; his M.A. in Political Science from Villanova University; and his Ph.D. in Political Science from Georgia State University.

Galt-Brown has taught in the Division of Social Science since 2003. He received his B.A. in History from the University of South Carolina/Coastal Carolina College; his M.A. in History from Murray University; and his Ph.D. in History from Mississippi State University.

            Giles, who has been an ABAC faculty member since 1997, teaches in the Division of Humanities. She earned her A.A. in English from ABAC and her B.A. and M.A. in English from Valdosta State University.

            Golden has been a part of the ABAC faculty since 1999. She earned her A.S. in Nursing from ABAC. She received her BSN in Nursing and MSN in Nursing-Adult Health/Education from Valdosta State University.

            Hassouna, a member of the Division of Social Science since 2003, received his B.A. in Middle East Studies from Birzeit University and his M.A. in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati.       

            Roe has been a member of the Division of Humanities since 2002. She earned her B.M. in Music Education-Voice Performance from Converse College; her M.C.M. in Music Pedagogy from the Southern Baptist Theological Conservatory; and her D.M.A. in Music Performance from the University of South Carolina.

            Rainey has been a member of the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources since 1997. He earned his B.S. in Animal Science from Southeastern Louisiana University; his M.S. in Animal Science from West Texas State University; and his Ph.D. in Physiology from Mississippi State University.

            Settimi, a member of the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources since 1996, earned his B.S. in Agronomy from Colorado State University; his M.S. in Agronomy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison; and his Ph.D. in Agronomy from Louisiana State University.  

            Waid has served as a member of the Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources since 1991. He received his B.S. in Wildlife and Biology from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Wildlife Science from Texas Tech University.
