HARPER NAMED AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR AT PRESIDENT

TIFTON – Ashton Harper, a freshman business administration major from Ocilla, has been named Ambassador of the Year for 2006-2007 at Abraham Baldwin College. The 2006 Irwin County High School graduate has also been selected as president of the Ambassadors organization for the 2007-2008 year.

The Ambassadors assist the offices of public relations and admissions, representing and promoting the college at a variety of community and college events. They work to maintain positive relationships between students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community.

The Ambassadors serve as campus tour guides for admissions prospects, assist in annual Homecoming activities, speak on stage for ABAC at the Sunbelt Expo, and serve as ushers at Dollars for ABAC Scholars.

On the campus, Harper is also member of the Rowdies, Baptist Collegiate Ministries, and Alpha Beta Gamma.

After graduation from ABAC, he plans to attend the University of Georgia where he will earn his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Harper is the son of D.W. and Elecia Harper. He is the grandson of J.C. and Shelvey Harper of Ocilla and Roscoe and Ludell Harper of Douglas.
