TOUR ITALY, TURKEY, AND THE GREEK ISLES

TIFTON—Rome, Florence and Venice will be two of the top destinations when the Abraham Baldwin College Public Service and Business Outreach Center offers a four-night land tour of Italy and a seven-night cruise to the Greek Isles on Royal Caribbean’s Splendor of the Seas June 5 – 17, 2007. This trip is available for the general public.

Travelers will depart from ABAC via motor coach for the trip to Atlanta’s airport on June 5 where they will board an overnight trans-Atlantic flight to Italy. A tour guide will meet the group on June 6 for a visit of the Eternal City of Rome, including the Roman Forum and the Coliseum. Visitors to Rome can also look forward to seeing St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel.

The next stop will be Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. Travelers will take a narrated tour for the remainder of the day to discover the city. The final land destination will be a visit to the floating city of Venice before boarding the Splendor of the Seas and sailing the Adriatic Sea to the Mediterranean on June 9.

The ship will dock in four ports of call – Dubrovnik, Ephesus, Santorini, and Corfu.  Dubrovnik is known for its natural beauty. Travelers can wander the bays, beaches, cliffs, and woodlands the island provides on June 10. The ship will then travel to Ephesus on June 12. Ephesus is known as one of the grandest reconstructed sites in the ancient world and onetime home of Cleopatra, Mark Antony, the Virgin Mary, and John the Apostle.

On June 13, the ship will dock for the day to enjoy the black-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters of Santorini.   On June 14 travelers will explore Corfu, the “Emerald Island” of Greece, before heading back to Venice and the trip home.

Package prices for this trip include the bus trip to Atlanta, roundtrip airfare from Atlanta, all airport and Italian transfers, four nights lodging in Italy with breakfast, three additional dinners, city tours of Rome, Florence and Venice, a seven-night cruise with meals and a tour director. Prices are $3,499 to $4,399 per person – double occupancy based on the types of cabins available on the ship.
