‘KENYON AND HIS COOL JAZZ’ AT FIRST TUESDAY

- The First Tuesday concert on Nov. 7 at
Individual tickets for the performance may be purchased at the door. The cost is $3 for adults and $1 for students. ABAC students are admitted free with ID. Patrons of the Arts and Entertainment Series can also attend at no charge.

Carter is a saxophonist and
composer/arranger. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from VSU and a Master’s degree

is a regular member of The David Brothers Band, The Georgia Big Band, and The
Soul Purpose Band. Carter is the band director at
The David Brothers Band consists of Andy David, trumpet; Steve Pruitt, trombone; Robert Orr, guitar; Tim Aucoin, bass; John David, drums; and Carter on tenor saxophone.
Carter will feature Zigaboogaloo by Nicholas Payton, This I Dig of You by Hank Mobley, Victor Young’s My Foolish Heart performed by featured vocalist Vann Thorton, Stevie Wonder’s My Cherie Amour featuring vocalist Catherine Carter, and Green Chimneys by Thelonious Monk. Carter will also perform an original piece, Catherine’s Eyes, at the concert.
