“My family has come to ABAC for as long as I can
remember,” Hartsfield said. “It’s the main reason I decided to come here. I
also like the fact that it is so close to home, and I enjoy the student –
teacher ratio. Here you aren’t a number.”
While she is only a
freshman attending her first semester at the college, she is very involved in
campus activities. She is a member of the ABAC Ambassadors, Circle K, FFA, 4-H,
Cattlemen’s Club, and Baptist Collegiate Ministries.
The Ambassadors assist the offices of public relations and admissions, representing and promoting the college at a variety of community and college events. They work to maintain positive relationships between students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community.
“What I really like best
about ABAC is the small town feel with the opportunity of a good-sized
college,” Hartsfield said. “You get the local hospitality and a good
education.”
Hartsfield’s expected
graduation date is in the fall of 2008. Upon receiving her ABAC associate’s
degree in animal science, she hopes to receive a bachelor’s degree in animal

“Animal science just
seemed like the right major for me,” Hartsfield said. “I’ve grown up around animals

If Hartsfield attends veterinarian school, she
hopes to one day open her own practice in
In the future, Hartsfield hopes to be married,
finished with school, and on a stable career path in the field of animal
science. She has two older sisters and is the daughter of Tim and Robin
Hartsfield.
