TWENTY-THREE GRADUATE FROM 213th ABAC POLICE ACADEMY

TIFTON—Twenty-three individuals from the South Georgia area recently received certificates at graduation exercises for the 213th session of the South Georgia Police Academy Basic Mandate Class at Abraham Baldwin College.

Academy Director Ray Saxon said the Overall Achievement award for the session was awarded to Joshua M. McElyea of the Valdosta Police Department. McElyea also received second place in Firearms.

First place in Academic Achievement was awarded to Jeremy B. Duncan of the Valdosta Police Department. Second place went to Matthew S. Rosenbloom of the Thomasville Police Department. First place in Firearms was earned by Rodney L. Brown of the Albany Police Department. The president of the 213th session was Leon E. Johnson of the Fitzgerald Police Department.

 Other graduates included Thomas D. Davis, Michael C. Fowler, Christopher E. Hill, Anthony L. Jenkins, Ashley C. McKinney, and Stephen K. Strickland of the Albany Police Department; Roy S. Luke, Jr. of Camilla, sponsored by the Tift County Sheriff’s Office; Jerry A. Pope of the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office; Nanda L. Ross of the Dougherty County Police Department; Larry L. Moore of the Fort Valley Police Department; Rickie G. Limoges of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office; and Rosalyn R. Haggins of the Thomasville Police Department.

Also graduating were Michael D. Blanton of the Valdosta State University Department of Public Safety; and Brandon J. Bass, Latoya W. Bell, Otto G. Pena, Michael J. Rogerson, and Joshua J. Stephens of the Valdosta Police Department.

 The South Georgia Police Academy regularly holds multi-week intensive training sessions designed to acquaint officers with state-of-the-art law enforcement techniques. The Academy operates in cooperation with the Division of Social Science at ABAC.
