Renee Smith
SMITH PLANS TO TEACH AGRICULTURE AFTER ABAC
TIFTON – Renee Smith, a freshman from
“I started at the Ware County School of Agricultural, Forestry, and Environmental Sciences in sixth grade,” Smith said. “I became immersed in the field and was an active member of the FFA.”
She also participated in golf, basketball, softball, Model United Nations, 4-H, and the Youth Apprenticeship program before coming to college.
When it was time
to pick a school, she chose ABAC. “I liked the friendly atmosphere the college
offers. It feels like home and everyone has a place here,” Smith said. She also
heard good things about ABAC through her brother, Jason, who is currently
attending
“ABAC is one of the most diverse places I have been and is accepting of such diversity. It is a very welcoming place,” Smith said.
At ABAC, she serves as an ABAC Ambassador for the college. “I’ve been on a lot of different teams, but I really enjoy doing something that encompasses everything;” Smith said. “The Ambassadors do a lot for the college, and I can give back to ABAC at the same time.”
She also serves as vice president of the Residence Housing Association, and is a member of BACCHUS, the Honor’s Club, the RaCooners, the Inter-Activities Council, and the Georgia Association of Education Student Program.
Once she
graduates, Smith plans to attend the
